Why choose this solution
unify data sets
Nautilus Platform is an interoperable solution that ingests different sources such as high frequency vessel data, IoT data, cartographic, meteorologic, weather, and commercial data. Combined with Nautilus’s machine learning-based vessel performance profiles, the Platform provides a complete picture of vessel performance in real time.
Improve Fleet Performance
Nautilus Platform tracks real-time performance relative to Charter Party warranties and expected consumption and shows vessel and fleet data at a glance. It allows teams to compare performance, detect deviation over time, and dive in deeper to analyze root cause of over or under consumption.
Reduce Emissions
Nautilus Platform tracks and monitors emissions, and provides several types of optimizations during voyages, empowering clients to ultimately reduce their carbon footprint and stay within regulatory compliance. Because every MT of saved greenhouse gas emissions counts on the path toward a carbon-free future.

Voyage Optimization
Nautilus uses high frequency data, noon reports, a client’s commercial information, as well as environmental and market data to build sophisticated, vessel-specific machine learning-based performance profiles. These performance profiles inform Nautilus Platform’s optimal operating recommendations. By considering the complete commercial picture, Nautilus can improve a clients’ voyage profitability by 10%.
Success Story
The owner of a large bulk vessel believed that traveling at a high speed would support their commercial relationship to ensure on-time arrival. However, it did not take into account weather, fuel prices, and berth availability. The ship arrived 8 days early, resulting in $60k in excess fuel consumption and 332MT of unnecessary CO2 emissions. Leveraging high-fidelity machine learning models combined with meteorological, oceanographic, and market data, the operations team realized with strong predictive confidence that a lower speed would result in better financial and environmental returns. As a result, our client’s fuel consumption fell by 14%, saved $80k of fuel and 490MT of CO2. Over the next year, this type of data driven decision making will eliminate over $1M in fuel consumption and 6,800MT of CO2.
Generator Optimization
Nautilus Platform determines the optimal technical generator configuration to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Generator Optimization increases total plant fuel efficiency and reduces engine hours by determining the most efficient configuration of online generators required for a given power demand. An improvement in overall plant fuel efficiency also results in reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This optimization also increases the duration between required engine overhauls to minimize maintenance spending. Our analysis creates generator plant KPIs to allow for performance comparison of vessels over time and against others in the fleet.
Success Story
A major LNG operator approached Nautilus with the goal of reducing fuel consumption, maintenance spending, and emissions. Through vessel-specific insights and Nautilus’s Generator Optimization, the LNG client was able to increase total plant fuel efficiency and reduce engine hours by 15% – resulting in 200MT monthly CO2 savings, $337,000 fuel savings, and $335,000 savings in maintenance spending across four vessels.
